The Van/The Road
01:40
|
|||
The van is shaking in the wind because you put a road through a castle made of stone, it is something you could never own.
It tries its best to peel you from the skin as you enter deep and deeper more within in this passage in the mountain.
The road will take you from the place that you were before now you're needing something more and you're searching for an answer
in the gaps between the cities and the towns, through the ups and all the downs the road has been your anchor.
And I keep driving along
I keep driving along
I keep driving along

Driving
01:47
|
|||
Oh there they go driving down
driving down the road
Chariots kicking dust
collecting cost and rust.
Think I might take a drive
and go driving down the road.
Oh the cost grows, grows so high
to take the wheel and drive
but we must pay the price
to explore different lives.
Think I might take a drive
and go driving down the road.

What Was Gold
03:38
|
|||
Take it slow, know your role .
Ebbs and flows, webs are sewn.
Every road can always turn
and what was gold can always...
learning curve, growing pain
are all the same
Past will be grass is green or grass is dead
with each step space is left,
and comfort kept is left to...
learning curve, growing pain
are all the same

Gypsy Man
04:13
|
|||
Going to see the gypsy man
pay a nickel and dime for him to read my hand
going to see the gypsy man
try to figure out what I don't understand
I've been dabbling in witchcraft and reiki
talking to the people who say they see
there's a plague in the water in which we swim
if you're reckless on the border it'll breathe you in
Going to see the gypsy man
pay a nickel and dime for him to read my hand
going to see the gypsy man
try to figure out what I don't understand
Pendulums from pleasant folk, apothecary
Doctors treating derelicts, aromatherapy
There's a plague in the way of the AMA
Pick another game if you don't wanna play
Going to see the gypsy man
pay a nickel and dime for him to read my hand
going to see the gypsy man
try to figure out what I don't understand

Cookie Cutter Condos
01:56
|
|||
Cookie cutter condos every corner of the world
please stand clear of all the closing doors
selling sex and cigarettes to all the boys and girls
please stand clear of all the closing doors
Throwing all your money at a video poker screen
praying for some luck cause you gave up on all your dreams
dedicated desperation, heart set on giving in.
You lost all your faith but still praying for a win.
Cookie cutter condos every corner of the world
please stand clear of all the closing doors
selling sex and cigarettes to all the boys and girls
please stand clear of all the closing doors
Drink away your liver smoke away your lungs
without any substance we're not having any fun.
Heroin and cocaine, ecstasy and booze,
now I'm feeling no pain and got everything to lose.
Cookie cutter condos every corner of the world
please stand clear of all the closing doors

Carrying Around
05:12
|
|||
I've been carrying around
this black Bic lighter and the fuel is all out
I've been carrying around
I keep hoping it'll fill up somehow
I've been carrying around
I've been carrying around
this fucking flatbed full some thousand pounds of bones now
I've been carrying around
I plan to pull it through the snow and all the small towns
I've been carrying around
I've been carrying around
this book of matches that has long been burned out
I've been carrying around
filled up my pockets with the weight of all the waste now
I've been carrying around
I've been carrying around
A sense of something that has long been gone now
I've been carrying around
One day I know I'll let it go and maybe grow somehow
But I've been carrying around

Baker Beach
03:59
|
|||
Brandon walked along the beach
with his bike helmet and shoes on his feet
with his backpack on he walked with intent
and greeted all those naked men
guarding the cliffs at the base of the bridge
where tourists flock like sea pigeons
and the dogs shake off all the salt and the sand
and it's too cold to swim but I've already been.
Brandon climbs to the top of the cliff
and leaves us behind for a shot that we'll miss
and the foam all clings where the sand meets the surf
and a man stands naked, poised and alert
and the sun starts to set to the edge of the sky
and the ducks they float and the birds they fly.
Brandon walks along the beach
he's taken his picture and now he will leave
